This ‘How To’ series is a series of blog articles that shows how you can use and get the most from ‘Publicity by Ribbonfish’.

These ‘How To’ blogs are structured as mini stories and they use characters, such as Bill, to demonstrate how certain tasks can be completed. All the characters used in these blogs are based on people that would be working in marketing, publicity and promotions and who are responsible for sending out publicity materials to selected contacts and collecting feedback and interest on those upcoming products.

How to Archive Tags

This is Bill.

Bill is responsible for data quality on the system and today he is going to archive a tag so that it can no longer be used by users to tag contacts.

Archiving the tag will essentially deactivate it so that it cannot be found by users when they tag contacts, however, all previously tagged contacts and lists that use the tag will continue to operate and function as normal.

Dave can archive a tag by clicking on the ‘Code’ tab from within the Publicity App and then click on the code he wants to archive.

The ‘Code’ holds the definition for the tag, including the tag label, the description (if relevant) and information relating to the number of records that have been tagged with this code.

To archive the tag, Dave can simply mark it as no longer active.

Yes, it is as easy as that!

Join us in the next blog to see how you can quickly create new tags on the fly!
